      Robert Thomas Patinson was born on May 13th, 1986 in London, England. As a young boy,         acting was the furthest thing from Rob's mind-after all, he explains, "I was quite shy 

      throughout my  life." Then, one day when a teen-aged Rob was in a restaurant with his dad, things changed. "We noticed this group of pretty girls nearby and for some reason 

decided to ask where they had just been," Rob remembers. "They mentioned the local 

acting school, and since then, (my dad) nagged me about attending." 

 The school was the Barnes Theater company and just around the corner from Rob's 

family home. He joined-mainly to please his dad and keep peace at home. But once

Rob had a few months at Barnes, the acting bug bit-hard! As they say, The rest is history.
